New Boots!

I finally broke down and purchased some new hiking boots. I prefer trail runners, if I am being honest, but with all the rain and snow this past winter I know many of the trails in our highers elevations still have snow on them and will remain muddy for quite some time after it melts. As much as I love the comfort and freedom of trail runners, they do not stand up to the snow, mud and muck like boots do.

So, I headed to REI and with the help of one of their fabulous sales associates, I came home with these beauties. They are the Oboz Sawtooth B-Dry Mid Hiking Boot and so far I love them. I don’t generally have issues with my ankles and actually dont like the feeling of my feet and ankles being restricted, so I was hesitant to try a mid or even a full boot. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how much movement I still have while adding more support.

Now I need to break them in a bit and see if I still feel the same way about them after a few hikes. Wish me luck!
